UK director Mike Leigh is to serve as the president of theInternational Jury at this year's Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) (August 20-28).

He will be joined in judging up to 10 films from eightcountries - ex-Yugoslavia, Albania, Romania and Bulgaria - in the RegionalProgramme by the Tribeca Film Festival's Peter Scarlet, the Romanian actressDiana Dumbrava (Maria) and local Bosnianwriter-director Pjer Zalica whose latest film Visiting Uncle Idriz will open the 10th edition of SFF on August 20.

Mike Leigh has attended the festival in Sarajevo on twoprevious occasions, most recently in 2002 when the Festival dedicated a Tributeto him.

In addition, jury members have been announced for a newprize - the Human Rights Award - which is being introduced this year to begiven to the director of the best documentary with the theme of human rightsscreening in the Regional Documentary or Panorama Documerntary sections. Thetwo members confirmed so far are Ivo Kummer, director of the Solothurn FilmDays, and Diana Weyermann, director of the documentary programme at theSundance Film Festival.
