UK industry veterans Paul Levinson and Warren Goldberg havelaunched DVD distributor Tango Entertainment, which will acquire product in allgenres for North America and the UK, with the aim of offering everything fromcut-price to star-driven titles.

The company is currently based out of Santa Monica and London,with plans to open an East Coast office soon. Key appointments will beannounced in due course.

Tango has already picked up the Kushner Locke library for theNorth American market, incorporating previously unreleased features and a hostof television titles such as Nicolas Roeg's Tennessee Williams adaptation SweetBird Of Youth and DollyParton in Unlikely Angels.

"I am delighted to be working once more with Warren Goldberg inthis exciting venture," Levinson said in a statement.

"We plan to use our joint experience in licensing product on aworldwide basis to quickly position Tango Entertainment in the marketplace andare certain that with our combined knowledge and individual areas of expertisewe will soon achieve our goal of making Tango Entertainment synonymous with thetotal home entertainment experience."

Levinson andGoldberg founded UK video distributor VCI, as well as Prism Pictures in the USand Starmaker, which was subsequently acquired by Anchor Bay. Goldberg foundedHollywood DVD Ltd.
