Lions GateInternational has closed a slew of sales at AFM on the horror project Catacombs.
Rights were sold to Redbus for the UK, Universum forGermany, Metropolitan for France, Eagle for Italy, Paradiso for Dutch andFrench Benelux, CMC for Taiwan, and LNK for Portugal. As previously announced,the picture has sold to Digital Site for Japan.
Sales alsoclosed with PRA/Fida for Turkey, Shaw Renters for Singapore, PT Amero Mitra forIndonesia, West for CIS, Hollywood Classic for the Czech Republic and Slovakia,Discovery for Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia, Eagle Films for Arabic SpeakingMiddle East, and Acme for the Baltic states.
The Lions Gateand Twisted Pictures co-production stars Shannyn Sossamon and Alecia Moore (akaPink) in the story of an American girl who gets lost during a party in Paris'underground catacombs and becomes convinced that something is chasing her.
David Elliot andTomm Coker co-wrote and co-directed the project, which shot on location inBucharest, Romania and Paris earlier this year.
Twisted Pictures' Mark Burg, Oren Koules, and GreggHoffman produced, and Lions Gate's president of acquisitions, television andco-productions Peter Block and senior vice president of acquisitions JasonConstantine oversaw production for the studio.
Lions Gate andTwisted Pictures have a nine-picture production and financing deal and thepartners are currently celebrating the release of their horror sequel Saw II, which opened number one in NorthAmerica and has grossed more than $60m after two weekends.
