Composer Thomas Newman andscreenwriter John Logan will both be honoured at the upcoming Hollywood FilmAwards ceremony on Oct 18 at the Beverly Hilton.

Hollywood Composer of theYear Award recipient Newman has earned six Oscar nominations in his career todate for the recent phenomenon Finding Nemo, American Beauty and Road To Perdition, among others.

He composed the score to ThePlayer, White Oleander and In TheBedroom, and worked on upcomingreleases The Cinderella Man and LemonySnicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Logan, who collects theHollywood Screenwriter of the Year Award, earned an Academy Award nomination in2001 for Gladiator.

He wrote the recent hit TheLast Samurai, Any Given Sunday andMartin Scorsese's upcoming biopic The Aviator.

The UCLA School of Theatre,Film and Television and dean Robert Rosen will receive the Hollywood FilmPreservation Award for the school's efforts to preserve the legacy of film forfuture generations.

Rosen was appointed directorof the UCLA Film and Television Archive in 1975, since which time he has builtone of the largest film archives in the world containing more than 50,000 filmsand 27million feet of newsreel footage.

Rosen also worked withScorsese and other filmmakers to establish The Film Foundation and has servedas the chair of its Archivists Council.
