Los Angeles-based production and international sales company DreamEntertainment has acquired international rights to Steve Buscemi's comedy LonesomeJim, and will introducethe picture to buyers at the Cannes market next month.

Starring Liv Tyler, Casey Affleck, and Seymour Cassel, LonesomeJim centres on therelationship between a nurse and an aspiring writer who is forced to returnfrom New York City to his parent's midwestern hometown.

Buscemi produced the picture, which premiered in dramaticcompetition at Sundance, with Jake Abraham, Galt Niederhoffer, Celine Rattray,Daniela Soto-Taplin and Gary Winick. It is a production of the film-makingcollective InDigEnt.

"We believe internationalaudiences will respond to the genuineness of the film and continue to embraceit, as has been the case in the US," Dream chairman and chief executive officerEhud Bleiberg said in a statement.

Karen Roberts, Dream Entertainment's senior vice president ofacquisitions and development, brought the picture to Dream and negotiated thedeal with Matt Littin of Cinetic Media on behalf of the producers.

Dream's Cannesslate includes the recent acquisition and Sundance selection Ellie Parker, as well as supernatural comic-bookthriller El Muerto,war thriller Straight Into Darkness, and the documentary Tell Them Who You Are.
