A string of number one bowssaw The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen (LXG) gross $6.6m from 1,749 screens in 21 markets at the weekend.

Fox International'sfantasy-adventure opened top in all its markets (unless otherwise indicated)and produced several strong holdovers to raise the international cumulativetotal to $23.3m.

It grossed $1.6m from 489screens in Mexico, took $649,000 from 219 in Brazil and scored thedistributor's fourth biggest ever bow in India on $256,000 from 100.

Elsewhere it took $574,000from 145 in Thailand, $442,000 from 73 in Belgium, $197,000 from 60 inArgentina, $356,000 from 91 in Holland (number two) and $146,000 from 37 inIndonesia.

There were also number onebows in Costa Rica, Uruguay, Ecuador, Estonia. Iceland produced $31,000 fromfive for an unconfirmed ranking.

LXG raised its Spanish total to $7.5m with a $1.7m haulfrom 373 in its second week.

Fox's Down WithLove grossed $1.9m from 734 screensin seven markets for a $5.1m running total.

Highlight here were thirdplace on $929,000 from 250 in Spain, second place on $179,000 from 65 inTaiwan, eighth place on $440,000 from 181 in France and an unconfirmed rankingin Russia, where the romantic comedy grossed $213,000 from 91.

Legally Blonde 2 increased its international total to $22.3m with a$1.8m weekend haul from 608 screens in 18 markets.

The comedy sequel opened inthird place in Australia on $1.3m from 261 and grossed $122,000 from 50 inSouth Africa for an unconfirmed finish.

The local language romanticcomedy Lisbela E O Prisioneiro,which is being distributed in Brazil through Fox Filmes Do Brazil, rankedsecond behind LXG on $619,000from 226 for a $3.5m running total.
