A subdued pre-Christmas weekend will should carry DreamWorks Animation's Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa over $200m and push Fox International's The Day The Earth Stood Still towards $60m in its second weekend.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa has reached $182.8m and there are 14 launches on the cards through PPI. Significant debuts are expected to come from Australia and New Zealand on December 18 followed by Italy and Hong Kong on December 19.

PPI's thriller Eagle Eye has grossed $73.6m and arrives in France on December 24.

The Day The Earth Stood Still stands at $46.9m and touches down in Japan on December 19. Meanwhile Fox International's epic adventure Australia has grossed $15m and opens in Belgium on December 17 followed by Holland a day later.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International executives have high hopes for Bolt when it shoots out in Mexico on December 19 and Taiwan on December 20. The animated feature has grossed $30.3m to date and is in the early stages of release.

Pixar title Wall-E has reached $279m and held its own at number one for the last two weekends in Japan, where it has taken $13.8m.

Twilight has taken more than $50m through Summit International territories and will capitalise on the approaching holiday season to continue its winning ways.

No major releases are scheduled this weekend but the vampire romance is expected to consolidate its $200m-plus global tally as it surges towards $60m overseas.

New Line International's comedy Four Christmases on $17.7m opens in Russia, Argentina and Holland on December 18 followed by Mexico and Spain on December 19.

The adventure Journey 3D on $114.8m opens in South Korea on December 18, police drama Pride And Glory on $7.9m opens in Singapore on December 18. The fantasy adventure Inkheart has grossed $4.1m from the very early stages of its run and open in Brazil on December 25.

Universal's teen romance Wild Child on $16.9m opens in four territories through UPI this weekend including Germany, Switzerland and German-speaking Switzerland on December 18, followed by Austria a day later.

The drama Changeling, currently on $23.3m, opens in Spain on December 19. Animated title The Tale Of Despereaux opens day-and-date with North America in the UK and Spain on December 19. The Cha Cha Cha project Rudi Y Cursi

Warner Bros Pictures International's Jim Carrey comedy Yes Man goes out day-and-date with North America in six territories this weekend including Spain and South Korea.

The terrorism thriller Body Of Lies has reached $59m and the romance Nights In Rodanthe stands at $32.8m.

Sony Pictures Releasing International's thriller Lakeview Terrace opens in Germany on December 18 followed by Spain a day later. Quantum Of Solace has amassed $369m.
