Magnolia Pictures hasacquired North America rights to Exodus Film Group's CG-animated feature TheHero Of Color City.

The story follows a group of crayons as they strive to save a vibrant land from a tyrant who clearly subscribes to the monochrome school of interior design.

J P McCormick and Rich Raczelowski co-wrote the screenplay and Magnolia plansan autumn 2007 release.

"The first mark a child will often make in their life is with a crayon,"executive producer Max Howard said. "What better way to encourage and inspirechildren than with a vivid world of crayons brought to life."

Howard previously collaborated on such animated features as The Lion King, Aladdin, and The Iron Giant.

"We're excited to be partnering with Exodus on The Hero Of Color City," Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles said. "They've put together a great concept with a fantastic animation team for something that has the potential to be a children's classic."
