The series will continue on November 21 with Hal Halberman and Jeremy Passmore's US action comedy Special starring Michael Rapaport as a parking warden who believes he has special powers. The film will get launch on HDNet's ULTRA VOD platform on November 7.
Beyond that, Magnet will release Nacho Vigalondo's Spanish sci-fi tale Timecrimes in mid-December while the 2009 slate comprises Franck Vestiel's French sci-fi thriller Eden Log in January, Ollie Blackburn's UK thriller Donkey Punch in February and Hitoshi Matsumoto's superhero mockumentary Big Man Japan in March.
'Some of the most exciting, forward-thinking cinema today falls under the genre label and deserves a showcase,' Magnolia Pictures president Eamonn Bowles said. 'In the tradition of The Shooting Gallery Film Series, we're putting together a group of films whose quality far outweighs most of what's on offer from Hollywood.'
