Magnolia’s genre arm Magnet Releasing has acquired US rights to Patrick Alessandrin’s D13 - Ultimatum, the sequel to Magnet’s 2004 action release D-13.

Luc Besson reprises his producer role on the story, which picks up where D-13 left off as the death of a gang lord leaves a dangerous power vacuum in the crime ravaged Parisien district.

David Belle and Cyril Raffaelli return as the individuals who try to restore order before the Paris secret police takes drastic measures to wipe the district off the map.

Magnet’s senior vice-president Tom Quinn and head of business affairs
Chris Matson brokered the deal with Pascal Degove of Europacorp.
Magnet plans a theatrical release in the autumn.
