The story of a man vacationing with his wife and child who has a crisis of lost youth when he encounters old friends at the same resort, the film stars Dragos Bucur, star of all of Muntean's films including The Paper Will Be Blue.
Making its Cannes debut under sales veteran Charlotte Mickie, the Toronto sales company is also repping Mark Jean's family film Finn On The Fly for Oasis International. MFI also has international sales on Charles Biname's The American Trap, which makes its debut at the Marche. Starring Remy Girard (Barbarian Invasions) and Colm Feore (Bon Cop, Bad Cop), the film tells the story of Quebec mobster Lucien Rivard who was intimately connected with the alleged perpetrators of the Kennedy assassination.
Sister company Maximum Films Distribution, the Canadian releasing arm, is distributing Boogie in Canada. Alliance Films has The American Trap for Canada.
MFi is looking to close remaining territories on Atom Egoyan's Competition title Adoration, buoyed by the recent pickup of US, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand rights by Sony Pictures Classics. Other pictures in the MFI sales slate are Jeremy Podeswa's Fugitive Pieces, which now sports a new 'happier' ending, as well as Sundance title Trouble The Water, Guy Maddin's Toronto and Berlin documentary My Winnipeg and Santosh Sivan's Before The Rains.
