Kevin McCormick has been promoted to president of production at Warner Bros Pictures and will assume daily oversight of the studio's creative team and film development and production.

McCormick will continue to supervise the company's New York and London offices and reports to Warner Bros Pictures Group president Jeff Robinov. Warner Bros' 2008 slate includes Speed Racer, Get Smart, The Dark Knight and Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince.

Robinov praised McCormick's 'talent, his taste in projects and the relationships that he has across the business', adding: 'He's a great film executive, and I look forward to working with him in this new capacity.'

Prior to his promotion, McCormick held the position of executive vice president of production since he joined the studio in 1999. Among his credits are Sweeney Todd, Blood Diamond and the upcoming The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button with Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.

Before Warner Bros he served as executive vice president of production at Fox 2000 from 1995-99. He began his career at the Robert Stigwood Organization in London and went on to form a development partnership with Sally Field.
