Shane Meadows will startshooting his fifth feature, tentatively titled This is England, onlocation in Nottingham and Grimsby starting on Wednesday.

The dark comedy is a coming-of-age story set in northern England duringsummer 1983, when an 11-year-old boy, Shaun, mourns the loss of his father andfalls in with a group of skinheads. Theensemble cast features Thomas Turgoose, Stephen Graham, Jo Hartley, Joe Gilgun,Andrew Shim, and Vicky McClure.

Meadows, who previouslydirected features including Dead Man's Shoes and A Room for RomeoBrass, also wrote the script for This is England, which wasdeveloped by FilmFour and EM Media, the regional screen agency in the EastMidlands. The film had previously been known as Oi! This is England or Bulldog.

Mark Herbert, who workedwith Meadows on Dead Man' Shoes, is producing for Warp Films, withfinancing from FilmFour, the UK Film Council's NewCinema Fund, EM Media, Screen Yorkshire, Ingenious Media, and distributorOptimum Releasing.

Danny Cohen is on board ascinematographer, with Chris Wyatt editing. Both previously worked on DeadMan's Shoes.
