Menemsha'sworld sales division has picked up Finnish director Mika Kaurismaki'smusic road movie The Sound Of Brasil (Moro No Brasil) for all North and South American territories.

Menemsha'sEuropean sales representative Beatrix Wesle brought the film to the companyafter it premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2002.

"Kaurismakitakes the viewer on a 2,500 miles musical pilgrimage to Latin America where heintroduces us to the Brazilian roots of Samba," Menemsha president NeilFriedman said in a statement.

"This filmis Kaurismaki's musical love declaration to Brazil and the Brazilianpeople."

The Sound OfBrasil is currently inrelease in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, the Benelux countries andGreece and will open in Japan in October.
