Hong Kong-based We Distribution has sealed further deals on Andrew Lau’s action thriller The Guillotines, which has gone to the UK (Metrodome), French-speaking Europe (AB Droits Audiovisuels), Italy (Minerva Pictures) and India (WEG).
The $15m film, which marks the first collaboration of Infernal Affairs trilogy director Lau and producer Peter Ho-sun Chan, tells the story of a covert squad responsible for carrying out secret missions for the Emperor. The hot pan-Chinese cast includes Huang Xiaoming (The Message), Ethan Juan (Monga) and Shawn Yue (Infernal Affairs II).
Currently in post-production, the film was previously sold to North America (Well Go USA), Germany and Benelux (Splendid Films) and Australia/New Zealand (Icon Film Distribution). Middle East, C.I.S. and Latin America are currently under negotiation.
