IDTEntertainment subsidiary Anchor Bay Entertainment has named Kaoru Mfaumemanaging director of its Manga Entertainment.

The Japan-basedMfaume recently held the post of vice president acquisitions at the company andbegan his career at Manga UK in 1995 as a production co-coordinator, eventuallytaking on the role of vice president of acquisitions for Manga and artistdevelopment for Chris Blackwell's Palm Pictures.

MangaEntertainment specializes in the production and distribution of Japaneseanimation for theatrical, DVD and home video release worldwide. The Manga filmlibrary is marketed and distributed in the US through Anchor Bay.

"[Kaoru] is a true leaderwithin the anime world and has co-produced a number of top-selling anime titlesincluding Street Fighter: Alpha Generations, Dead Leaves and Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex," Anchor Bay Entertainment chief executive officerTed Green said.
