MGM has acquired worldwide rights, excluding selectterritories, to Douglas Mackinnon's TheFlying Scotsman.

Jonny Lee Miller stars inthe true story of Scottish cyclist Graeme Obree, who battled mental illness andbroke world records after designing his own bicycle.

The film world premiered asthe opening film at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and recentlyscreened at the AFM.

"The Flying Scotsman is a real crowd-pleaser with a cracking storyof determination, and we're very excited and flattered that MGM shares our vision for this inherently commercial film," said JamieCarmichael, managing director of ContentFilm International, which struck thedeal with MGM.
MGM plans a theatrical release in North America on Dec 29.

The film was written by JohnBrown, Simon Rose, Declan Hughes, produced by Sara Giles, Peter Gallagher,Peter Broughan, and executive produced by Alasdair Waddell, Simon Rose, AlanKaplan, Derek Roy, Garth Thomas, Claire Chapman, Jeff Abberley, Julia Blackman,Damita Nikapota.
