The Oscar nominated scene stealer from Revolutionary Road and Boardwalk Empire will collect the honour on Apr 11.
“Michael Shannon is a magnetic performer, capable of portraying powerful characters with ease,” RiverRun executive director Andrew Rodgers said. “We are so glad to be able to honour him at this year’s festival. Shannon has appeared in more than 50 films and earned an Oscar nomination for his supporting role in Revolutionary Road. Feature credits include Bug, Shotgun and My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done?
