Former Alliance AtlantisCommunications senior vice-president of dramatic programming LauraMichalchyshyn has joined US cable network The Sundance Channel as executivevice president of programming and marketing.
Michalchyshyn will be basedin New York and will report to Sundance Channel founder Robert Redford andpresident and chief executive officer Larry Aidem.
She will be responsible forall creative expressions of the Sundance Channel brand, both on andoff-channel, including original programming, film acquisition, programmeplanning, on-air promotion and the creative strategy and implementation of all off-channelconsumer marketing.
Reporting to Michalchyshynon the programming side will be Adam Pincus, senior vice president of originalprogramming, and Christian Vesper, vice president of film programming.
On the marketing andbranding side, her direct reports will be Kirk Iwanowski, senior vice presidentof marketing; Keira Alexandra, vice president/creative director; and MeredithBreitbarth, vice president of advertising and creative services.
At Alliance AtlantisMichalchyshyn was responsible for all programming for the company's dramaticchannels, including Showcase, Showcase DIVA, Showcase ACTION, and theIndependent Film Channel Canada.
