Miramax's Scary Movie 3 opened top in Spain through Buena VistaInternational (BVI) at the weekend on a superb $3.8m for the fifth biggest BVIlive-action bow ever and the best opening for a Miramax title.
Overall the sequel grossed$5.3m at the weekend to raise the international running total from BVI marketsto $70.4m.
Starsky & Hutch raised its total by $5.3m to $30.5m, powered by a$2.6m number one bow in Australia on 244 screens for Miramax's best everrelease there.
Elsewhere Brother Bear is on the cusp of $150m after it grossed $4.9m for a$149.8m total. The animated hit stayed top in Germany for the fourthconsecutive weekend, raising its total by $1.5m to $13.7m.
Hidalgo added $4.7m for a $17.6m running total, where thehighlight was a $1.4m number two bow in Germany. The Haunted Mansion added $1.6m for $68.5m.
