Mitchell Micich has been promoted to deputy director, finance & operations at New York's independent film non-profit organization IFP and Amy Dotson has been promoted to deputy director.

Both report directly to IFP executive director Michelle Byrd. Meanwhile Jennifer Smith is named producer of the Gotham Independent Film Awards.

Micich is a nine-year veteran of IFP and previously served as senior director of finance & operations. He has financial oversight and day-to-day administrative management of the non-profit IFP and its publication, Filmmaker Magazine. Prior to joining IFP, he served as comptroller and financial analyst for arts management consultants CW Shaver.

Dotson originally joined IFP in 2006 as producer and managing director of programming and in the newly created managerial role as deputy director she now oversees the development and execution of all membership services and programmes produced by the organisation.

Prior to joining IFP, Dotson was associate programmer and special programmes producer for SILVERDOCS: AFI/Discovery Channel Documentary Festival, The AFI Silver's Latin American Film Festival and The AFI Silver's The European Union Film Showcase in Washington, DC.

Smith joined IFP full-time in September 2008 as associate producer on the Gotham Independent Film Awards. As of January 2009 she assumed the role of producer on the independent film awards ceremony and its related public Gotham Independent Film Awards Series. IFP's live annual awards show will be held this year on December 1.
