Ilyanne Morden Kichaven has been promoted to Hollywood executivedirector at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).

Kichaven, a five-year SAG veteran, will commence her role in theNew Year and play a key part in representing the interests of the HollywoodDivision board.

She will oversee strategic planning on behalf of SAG's nearly70,000 Hollywood members, who comprise close to 60% of national membership.

"I'm extremely pleased that Ilyanne will be stepping intothis critically important position," Anne-Marie Johnson, SAG's firstnational vice president and Hollywood board chair, said.

"I and many of my colleagues in Hollywood have come to knowand respect Ilyanne over the past several years, during which time she hasserved as a tireless and effective advocate for us on countless issues.

Kichaven, who currently serves as SAG's national director ofcommunications, joined the Guild in 2000 as a consultant to the communicationsdepartment.

During her tenure, she has formulated media strategies and servedas a national spokesperson on a variety of initiatives.

"I am truly honoured to be chosen for this role,"Kichaven said. "There are many challenges facing the Hollywood members ofthis great union and I am eager to get to work on their behalf."

Prior to joiningSAG, Kichaven headed public relations and marketing firm IMK, whose clientsincluded Columbia TriStar, Merchant Ivory Productions and Strand Releasing.
