Constantin Film's executive director for production Martin Moszkowicz has had his contract as a member of the German producer-distributor's management board extended to end 2013.

Moszkowicz's commitment to stay at the helm of Constantin Film for production contradicts suggestions in recent months that the future of the producer-distributor could be in jeopardy. Those suggestions centred on alleged plans by main shareholder Highlight Communications to concentrate on marketing sports rights.

Confirmation of Moszkowicz's role comes ahead of changes in the management structure from January 1. At that time Fred Kogel will step down as CEO and be succeeded by Bernhard Burgener, the present chairman of the supervisory board.

As part of the management restructuring, Moszkowicz will become Constantin Film's management board member with responsibility for film and television. He will focus on as film and television production; theatrical distribution/marketing and press relations; international licence trading; international distribution and sales; and acquisition of German productions for German theatrical release.

In addition to serving as CEO, Burgener will also hold the post of executive director licence and rights trading. He will be joined on the management board by Hanns Beese, executive director finance, and Franz Woodtli, executive director home entertainment.

Commenting on the extension of Moszkowicz's contract and the management restructure, Burgener said that 'the foundations have been laid for sound corporate management and continued success in the best interests of our employees, customers and shareholders.'

In March this year, producer Bernd Eichinger extended his exclusive general production contract with Constantin Film until March 31, 2014.
