Former George W Bushcampaigner Stacy Carlson has been named executive vice president of globalgovernment affairs at the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).

Carlson will commence hernew post on Jan 3 2005, and currently runs California Governor ArnoldSchwarzenegger's Washington DC office, handling federal issues for the state.

She played an integral rolein the 2000 Bush for President campaign, serving as Western Region politicaldirector and director of ballot access and delegate selection. Carlson alsoworked as senior public policy advisor at Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer &Feld.

"I'm delighted Stacy hasagreed to lead MPAA's worldwide legislative issues," MPAA president andchief executive officer Dan Glickman said in a statement.

"She has a broad backgroundin public policy, private business and a proven ability to successfully managecomplex issues and team efforts. Her relationships on Capitol Hill are broadand deep."

"In addition, Stacy'sprivate sector work with high technology companies is an invaluable asset in anindustry whose future is so closely tied to new technologies."
