New films from Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia will be shown in a new regional focus at this year's Munich Film Festival (June 28-July 5) alongside the event's traditional platforms for French cinema - Nouveau Cinema Francais - and Latin American cinematography - Visiones Latinamericanas.

In addition, three Tributes will be dedicated to the Russian actor Oleg Jankovsky, Munich-based filmmaker-writer-journalist Eckhart Schmidt and to German filmmaker/photo-artist Ulrike part of the festival's sidebar for VideoArt and Experimental Cinema.

The 21st edition of the Munich Film Festival will be the last one under the tutelage of founder Eberhard Hauff before he hands over to Andreas Stroehl who has been learning the ropes of the festival organisation since the beginning of April.
