Naomie Harris will receive the Bahamas International Film Festival's (BIFF) Rising Star Tribute on December 11.
Harris' credits include 28 Weeks Later, Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 and 3, and Miami Vice.
Festival organisers also announced that BIFF's Filmmaker Residency Programme will award $10,000 toward development and production on an independent Bahamian and Caribbean film-maker's project.
Filmmaker Residency advisors include Shoreline Entertainment CEO Morris Ruskin, Mighty Joe Young screenwriter Lawrence Konner, Ghost Rider producer Norman Golightly, veteran film festival director Nicole Guillemet and writer-director Susan Jacobsen.
The film-makers and projects selected for the BIFF's Filmmaker Residency Programme are:

Jason Darcy Adam's Quest
Kareem Mortimer Daybreak
Gustavius Smith Built For Load
Ian Poitier Flight Of The Bumblebee
