Diane Nelson has beenpromoted to the newly created position of executive vice president of globalbrand management at Warner Bros Entertainment, where she will work with thecompany's divisions to promote existing franchises and develop new brands.

Nelson and her team willcollaborate with all the business units to develop non-theatrical propertiesalongside the major theatrical brands.

Her team will also serve ascross-Time Warner worldwide brand managers for the studio's pictures,television series, home videos/DVDs, videogames and consumer products.

"We created this position tosupport our overall event and brand strategies as well as to proactivelyaddress fundamental changes in the marketplace," chairman and chief executiveofficer Barry Meyer said in a statement.

"This new position wascreated specifically for Diane; her background, expertise, sensitivities andrelationships with stakeholders, creative-rights holders, film-makers andexecutives throughout the company make her uniquely qualified to maximise thepotential for each and every one of our core properties and to help ensure theirlong-term success."

Nelson joined the studio in1996 as director of worldwide corporate promotions and rose through the ranksto executive vice president of domestic marketing.

Prior to that she served asdirector of national promotions at Walt Disney Records.
