New Line Cinema has struck a promotional deal with United Airlines and the Hong Kong Tourism Board for its August 3 release Rush Hour 2.

During July and August, travellers on domestic United Airlines flights will see an in-flight film focused on travel to Hong Kong, where much of Rush Hour 2 starring Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker and Zhang Ziyi is set. A United 747 is featured in the film.

As part of the promotion, United will screen the world premiere of Rush Hour 2 to passengers on board UA Flight 1 non-stop from Los Angeles Airport (LAX) to Hong Kong on July 26. That flight will be rechristened the Rush Hour Express and the flight will be repainted for the occasion.

The airline will sponsor a sweepstakes and radio promotions with a grand prize including air, hotel and land packages for two to Hong Kong courtesy of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts and J&O Tours.

The Tourism Board in addition will incorporate scenes from the film into its Destination Hong Kong travel video for the month of August, a video aired on board United flights.
