A new regional film commission has been added to Spain's growing network of local organisations with the launch of an office in Castilla-Leon

The commission will oversee the Castilla-Leon Producers' Association's (ACALPA) already-functioning 'virtual commission,' an extensive on-line database of information to facilitate shoots in the region.

The website (www.filmcommission-castillayleon.es) offers information about permits, contacts for local crews and production services, accommodation, year-round weather and light conditions, maps and location suggestions.

Castilla-Leon is located to the northwest of Madrid and encompasses the historically significant cities of Avila, Segovia, Salamanca and Valladolid.

The new organisation joins the growing list of local film commissions in Spain grouped together under the Spain Film Commission, an umbrella organisation formed last year.
