BVI's animated hit Finding Nemo spent its second week at the top of the New Zealand chart this week despite only opening on Sep 4. The Pixar film managed to take the top spot the previous weekend (Aug 28-31) off previews alone. This week's official launch saw it gross more over the weekend than the rest of the top 20 put together.

At seven UIP scored a hit with Steven Shainberg's Secretary. The black comedy, which won the Special Jury Prize at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival and has provided numerous awards for lead actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, played at just five screens to score the second best screen average of the weekend, behind Finding Nemo. Secretary's total gross includes box office from July's Auckland International Film Festival.
