AFM first look: Duke Nicholson stars as ‘The Deputy’ in Highland Film Group crime thriller

Highland Film Group has released a first-look image from action crime thriller The Deputy, which it represents for worldwide sales and screens at AFM.

Duke Nicholson, who has appeared in Jordan Peele’s Us and Julian Schnabel’s Hand Of Dante, stars in the story of a part-time deputy who is tasked with guarding a body that vanishes mysteriously, leading him into a frantic search that unravels a deep web of corruption in his town. 

William H Macy, Tiffany Haddish, Stephen Dorff, Julia Fox, Billie Lourd and Colleen Camp co-star. The film is the feature directorial debut of Matt Sukkar. Narcos co-creator and co-writer Carlo Bernard wrote the script, adapted from the novel by Victor Gischler. 

The film is produced by Andrew Stevens for his Andrew Stevens Entertainment, alongside Hicham Benkirane for HBK F.C. and Sukkar.
