EXCLUSIVE: AGC International will make its adventure epic Desert Warrior available to buyers for the first time at AFM (November 11-16) next week.
AGC is in active negotiations with several US buyers after screening the film in Los Angeles following the recent world premiere at Zurich Film Festival.
The regional premiere will take place at Red Sea Film Festival, which runs December 4-13 and opens with AGC sales title Giant.
Rupert Wyatt (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes) directed the long-gestating Desert Warrior, which stars Anthony Mackie, Aiysha Hart, and Ben Kingsley and follows the tumultuous course of events after a defiant princess refuses to become an emperor’s concubine.
Saudi’s MBC Studios and Jeremy Bolt’s US-based JB Pictures filmed in the mountains and deserts of Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk province. AGC International handles worldwide sales and the budget has been variously reported at $130m and $150m.
