Barlow starred in the coming-of-age comedy Sweetheart which was written and directed by Marley Morrison who has also been selected as a Bafta Breakthrough. The film was nominated for five British Independent Film Awards (Bifa) in 2021, picking up best breakthrough performance for Barlow and best producer for Michelle Antoniades.

All three have been selected for the UK contingent of Bafta Breakthrough which also features Dying To Divorce director Chloe Fairweather on its 21-strong list.
