Screen can exclusively reveal the first trailer for Thomas Vinterberg’s Another Round, which was named in the Cannes 2020 Official Selection yesterday.

Written by Vinterberg and Tobias Lindholm, the film centres on four friends – all high school teachers - who test a theory that they will work and live better by maintaining a constant level of alcohol in their blood.

Their initial results are positive with classes and results improving; however, as they continue the experiment the results become more extreme.

Mads Mikkelsen (The Hunt, Casino Royale) leads the cast, alongside Thomas Bo Larsen, Lars Ranthe and Magnus Millang.

The €4.5m (£4m)-budget film was produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Kasper Dissing for Denmark’s Zentropa Entertainment.

Danish sales company TrustNordisk represents worldwide sales for all media on the title, with Screen revealing Studiocanal UK had acquired UK and Ireland rights last September, and Haut et Court took French rights in April.

Vinterberg scored an international hit with 1998’s Dogme title Festen and has gone on to make features including The Hunt (2012) and Far From The Madding Crowd (2015).
