Arclight Films has announced at the virtual EFM a French sale on Andrea Riseborough thriller Possessor.

Gary Hamilton and his team have closed an all-rights deal with The Jokers Films on Brandon Cronenberg’s sci-fi thriller.

Christopher Abbott, Sean Bean, and Jennifer Jason Leigh also star in Possessor, a Sundance 2020 selection that opened in the US through Neon last October and won the grand prix award at Gerardmer International Fantastic Film Festival in France in January.

Riseborough plays a corporate agent who uses brain-implant technology to get others to commit assassinations. When she gets trapped in the mind of a man whose identity threatens to obliterate her own she finds herself in a fight for her life.

Fraser Ash, Niv Fichman, and Kevin Krikst of Rhombus Media produced with Andy Starke of Rook Films. Arclight chairman Hamilton and Ryan Hamilton are among the executive producers.

Possessor is an official Canada-UK co-production, presented by Ingenious Media, and produced with the participation of Telefilm Canada and Ontario Creates.
