New Wave Films has picked up Bas Devos’ drama Here for the UK and Ireland from Beijing-based Rediance.
The film had its world premiere in Berlin’s Encounters strand where it won best film as well as the Fipresci prize. It has its Asian premiere today (March 31) at the Hong Kong Film Festival.
A theatrical release is scheduled in the UK and Ireland for late autumn.
Here centres around a Romanian construction worker and a Belgian-Chinese botanist who experience a life-changing chance encounter at a restaurant in Brussels.
It is produced by Belgium’s Quetzalcoatl.
Further deals on the title include the US (Cinema Guild), Japan (Sunny Film) and Singapore (Anticipate Pictures).
