Underworld actress joins Simon Pegg in high concept comedy, Absolutely Anything.

Kate Beckinsale, star of the Underworld franchise, has been cast in Absolutely Anything, the upcoming comedy from Monty Python star Terry Jones. Start of shoot is set for March 24.

Beckinsale will star as female lead Catherine and romantic interest to Neil, played by Simon Pegg. The British actress recently finished shooting Eliza Graves with Michael Caine, and Michael Winterbottom’s Face of an Angel with Daniel Bruhl.

The Absolutely Anything cast also includes Sanjeev Bhaskar, Eddie Izzard and Joanna Lumley, in addition to a voice cast featuring Jones alongside his Python co-stars John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle and Michael Palin alongside Robin Williams.

The comedy follows a disillusioned school teacher (Pegg) who suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wishes, a challenge bestowed upon him by a group of power-crazed aliens watching him from space. As he struggles to deal with these new found powers and the events that subsequently arise, he calls upon his loyal canine companion Dennis (voiced by Robin Williams) to help him along the way.

The film is produced by Ben Timlett and Bill Jones at Bill & Ben Productions.

Triple Oscar-winner Jim Acheson (Man Of Steel, Spider-Man) is on board to design the production’s costumes, sets and aliens.

Mike Medavoy, who previously worked with Jones on Life of Brian and Eric the Viking, will serve as executive producer with Chris Chesser.

Worldwide sales are being handled by GFM Films.
