Germany’s Beta Cinema has boarded international sales on Felix Randau’s I Is Another starring Claes Bang, which it will launch at next month’s American Film Market (AFM, November 11-16).
The film wrapped production on September 3, having filmed in Leizpig and Weimar in Germany, and Vienna in Austria.
Written by Randau, I Is Another is set in autumn 1952, when journalist Hedda and her husband Winfried ambush Felix Kersten, former massage therapist to Nazi SS Reich leader Heinrich Himmler.
Kersten claims to have helped thousands of concentration camp prisoners to freedom during the Nazi era; but Hedda has doubts, leading to a psychological game of cat-and-mouse.
Valerie Pachner, Susanne Wuest, Timocin Ziegler and Martin Muller are also on the cast.
The film is produced by Marcel Lenz and Claritta Kratochwil for ostlicht filmproduktion, in co-produciton with Wega Film, and collaboration with Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, BR, and Arte. The production is backed by MDM, OFI, DFFF, FFA, Filmfonds Vienna and the Thuringian State Chancellery.
Beta has released the first image from the film, above; and will present first footage to international buyers at AFM.
