Curzon’s head of cinema programme Ben Lyndon, Picturehouse Cinemas director of programming Carol McKay and BFI Imax programme manager Madeleine Mullett have joined the lineup of speakers at the BFI London Film Festival Industry Forum (October 8-15).
They will take part in a discussion on the state of the UK’s cinema exhibition industry following a record-breaking spring and summer 2026 driven by new releases including
Obsession, The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
A panel on co-productions will feature Irish producer Alan Maher (Everybody Digs Bill Evans), Spain’s Adrià Monés (The End Of It),Norway’s Dyveke Bjørkly Graver (Fjord) and Brazil’s Rodrigo Teixeira (I’m Still Here).
Costume design will be explored in an on-stage conversation between My Father’s Shadow’s designer PC Williams and writer/director Akinola Davies Jr.
Sheffield DocFest’s creative director Raul Niño Zambrano will host a discussion on working with archives while shaping a creative storyline in documentary with directors Theo Rollason, Nanette Burstein, Rafael Guendelman and the BFI National Archive’s Simon McCallum.
They join previously announced Spotlight conversations with UK producers James Wilson and Pippa Harris.
On October 9, the fourth edition of New Waves co-production meetings will see a group of 12 experienced producers from France meeting UK producers to explore collaboration on new projects, organised by the BFI and CNC.
The LFF Expanded Industry Day returns on October 15, featuring a works-in-progress showcase and one-to-one surgery sessions with BFI Doc Society Fund, the BFI Filmmaking Fund and the BFI National Lottery Audience Projects Fund.
“We wanted to bring together practitioners with very different perspectives and experiences, from filmmakers at the top of their game to cinema programmers taking the pulse on what audiences are gravitating towards and the craftspeople exploring the creative possibilities of their disciplines,” said Silvia Angrisani, BFI London Film Festival industry programme manager.
“We’re delighted to continue creating space for emerging voices bringing new formats and conversations to the Forum. As always, it’s a programme designed to offer both insight and practical opportunities for delegates to meet and find potential collaborators.”
The BFI London Film Festival runs from October 7-18.
