Taking place at London’s Picturehouse Central on September 21-22, the event is organsied by the BFI Film Audience Network (FAN) and delivered by Film Hub London and Film Hub Scotland.

There will be 25 distributors attending, including 606 Distribution, Bulldog Film Distribution, Dartmouth Films, Guerilla Films, Independent Cinema Office, Modern Films Entertainment, Munro Films, Parkland Entertainment, Republic Film Distribution, Signature Entertainment, Studio Soho Distribution and Talking Drum Entertainment.

The first day will involve distributors presenting marketing and audience development plans for new titles while the second day will see speed meetings hosted between distributors, exhibitors and specialists.

Distributor Slate Days is in partnership with Picturehouse Central and the Film Distributors’ Association (FDA) and support comes from comscore, Filmbankmedia and usheru.

Attendance is prioritised for exhibitors who are part of the BFI FAN.

Adrian Wootton, chief executive of Film London and the British Film Commission, said: “As a vital part of the film industry’s ecosystem, cinemas contribute significantly to the UK’s culture and economy. Now more than ever it’s so important that we support and celebrate what is unquestionably the best place for filmgoers to experience the magic of the movies. With independent distributors set to attend Distributor Slate Days, alongside returning majors, we look forward to what promises to be an exciting and diverse programme. I would like to thank the BFI Film Audience Network, Film Hub Scotland, Picturehouse Cinemas and our generous sponsors for their commitment and enthusiasm toward this event.”

Allison Gardner, chief executive of Glasgow Film, said: “In these turbulent times cinema offers us an opportunity to come together and enjoy great storytelling. We are delighted to once again collaborate with our Film Hub London colleagues in delivering Distributor Slate Days at Picturehouse Central. As the sector regains some kind of normality, this event is important in connecting exhibitors and distributors and offering us a rich and varied picture of the new release titles for audiences to enjoy in cinemas later this year.”
