‘What Is Love?’

EXCLUSIVE: Global buyers have fallen hard for Fabien Gorgeart’s comedy drama What Is Love? (C’est Quoi l’Amour?) starring Laure Calamy and Vincent Macaigne as a long-divorced couple attempting to annul their Catholic marriage at the Vatican.

Ginger & Fed has sold the film to Australia and New Zealand (Madman Entertainment), Italy (Movies Inspired), Switzerland (Agora Films), Austria (Filmladen Filmverleih), Canada (Les Films De A A Z), Israel (Lev Cinemas), Benelux (Liberty Production Lux), Portugal (Outsider Films), and Central Europe (Prorom Media Trade).

The cast also includes Lyes Salem, Melanie Thierry, Celeste Brunnquell and Saül Benchetrit. Producers are France’s Petit Film and Deuxième Ligne.

Billed as “a comedy of re-divorce”, the film follows a couple who bring their blended families on a highly unorthodox trip to Rome to prove before the church that they never really loved each other, but old feelings resurface along the way.

Zinc Distribution will release the film in France on May 6.
