EXCLUSIVE: Ginger & Fed has scored a slew of deals in Cannes for Gregoire Vigneron’s French comedy Million Dollar Madness (Le Million) starring Christian Clavier.
The film has sold to Canada (TVA Films), Spain (A Contracorriente Films), Benelux (Paradiso), Switzerland (Pathe), Hungary (Vertigo Media), Cyprus and Greece (Videorama and Weirdwave), Portugal (Nos Lusomundo Audiovisuais), Ukraine (Total Film), Romania (Malusa Media), Czech Republic and Slovakia (Foxx Media Group), and CIS and Baltic states (Ultra Vogue Records).
The film follows a construction manager who learns he has been unfairly laid off from his job by the company’s tyrannical CEO so decides to steal €1m from the company vault. When he finds out he is actually being promoted, he has to scramble to correct his crime. Rayane Bensetti and Gilles Cohen co-star.
The film is produced by France’s Curiosa Films and Belgium’s UMedia Production. Now in post-production, Apollo will release the film in France this fall.
Vigneron’s previous feature as a director was 2010 thriller Without A Trace starring Benoît Magimel.
