Former president of District PR Kevin McLean will lead the operation as director while international film publicist Kara MacLean is manager and previously worked with Touchwood PR in Toronto.
Both will report directly to president of Touchwood PR, Andrea Grau.
“Since its inception in 2009, Touchwood has enjoyed tremendous growth,” said Grau (pictured). “I have had the good fortune of being able to attract a very well respected team and great clients. The LA office represents a natural progression for the organisation and we are all very excited by the opportunities ahead.”
The LA office will provide PR strategy and support to US-based distributors, filmmakers, festivals and other arts and entertainment organisations.
Touchwood’s LA team recently worked with long-standing client TIFF on its inaugural Canada’s Top Ten event in Los Angeles in conjunction with Film Independent at LACMA, and is currently securing films for the upcoming festival season
