Industry veteran Carlos Rincon has teamed up with Vital Pictures to launch Los Angeles and Atlanta-based sales, financing, and production company Prestige International Pictures (PIP).
The company will announce a new slate in Cannes next week.
Rincon, formerly of Premiere Entertainment Group, is president and co-founder of Prestige and is joined by partners, co-founders and producers Chris Lemos, Luis Guerrero, William Knochel, and Brad Friedlander of Vital Pictures.
In addition to representing third-party titles, Prestige will represent Vital Pictures’ slate of in-house titles.
“After years of working across both production and distribution, we began to explore how we might better support our own films and also those of our fellow filmmakers,” said Lemos, Guerrero, and Knochel, who added that the partnership with Rincon aligns with their view of “focusing on meaningful relationships and long-term impact”.
Rincon added, “We share the same passion and vision of being able to provide a successful pathway for filmmakers to hone their skills and develop high concept projects while maintaining their artistic integrity.”
At Premiere Entertainment Group, Rincon served as executive producer on films including Ruthless starring Dermot Mulroney and Shrapnel with Jason Patric. Prior to that, he was head of acquisitions and US sales at Spotlight Pictures.
Lemos, Guerrero, and Knochel founded Vital Pictures in 2019 and produced horror thriller Beneath Us and Second World War dramatic thriller The War Below. Current and upcoming projects include Christmas Balloon, a Christmas feature in collaboration with Mattel Films.
