‘My Friend Eva’

EXCLUSIVE: Spanish director Cesc Gay’s romantic comedy My Friend Eva has sold to key territories in Cannes for Filmax.

Deals have been done for Portugal (Cinemundo), Hungary (Cirko Film), Australia and New Zealand (Palace Films), alongside an agreement with Encore Inflight for airline distribution.

My Friend Eva centres on a 50-year-old married woman and mother of two teenagers whose chance encounter in Rome triggers an emotional awakening that upends her life.

Gay co-wrote the script with Edu Sola, the Goya-award winning writer of A House On Fire. Impossible Films is producing,

Olivia Wilde has recently remade Gay’s 2000 film The People Upstairs as the Sundance hit The Invite.
