EXCLUSIVE: Principal photography has begun in Colombia on elevated thriller The Last Cargo with Katheryn Winnick from Vikings, Samantha Logan, and Iain Glen from Game Of Thrones.
Myriad Pictures will commence worldwide sales in Cannes excluding Canada, where Photon Films will distribute. Christian de la Cortina wrote and directs the story about a rookie UN pilot in the Congo basin who teams up with a hardened humanitarian worker to uncover corruption in the jungle mining business.
Vanessa Caceres produces for Righteous Pictures, and Jonathan Vanger, Frank Baylis, Myriad CEO Kirk D’Amico, and Winnick will serve as executive producers.
Kirk D’Amico said, “This is a timely story about the quest for precious metals and resources and what price including the lives of innocent people that it costs.”
Winnick portrayed Lagertha on the Emmy-winning series Vikings. Among her credits are Sean Penn’s Flag Day, which she produced, and she recently wrapped production on the feature My New Friend Jim alongside Rob Lowe.
Logan’s television credits include All American and 13 Reasons Why, as well as the feature The Empty Man. Glen played Ser Jorah in Game Of Thrones and his feature credits include The Last Front and The Colony.
