Constantin Film has closed a first-look deal with German writer Bora Dagtekin, his US-producing partner Marie-Amelie Rechberg and their newly formed Los Angeles-based company Dare Filmz.

Constantin and Dare plan to develop and produce high-concept English and German-language projects together.

Dagtekin is the creator of many films and television series in Germany, such as Turkish For Beginners and Doctor’s Diary – Men Are The Best Medication.

Rechberg started her career at Focus Features and worked at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment before venturing out to pursue her own projects.

“Bora Dagtekin is a star among the German writers,” Constantin Film executive board member Martin Moszkowicz said. “I look forward to the collaboration with Bora Dagtekin and Marie Rechberg.”
