British starlet Emma Watson has signed on to one of her first post-Harry Potter roles and will star for Summit Entertainment in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower.

Summit International will commence talks with EFM buyers after it acquired feature rights to Stephen Chbosky’s coming-of-age novel centring on the trials and tribulations of a 15-year-old outsider. Logan Lerman will play the main character oppostite Watson as his first love. 

Chbosky adapted the screenplay from his own novel and makes his feature directorial debut when production kicks off in the summer. Lianne Halfon and Russell Smith will produce through their Mr. Mudd label and Mr. Mudd’s John Malkovich will serve as executive producer.

Summit’s president of production Erik Feig, vice-president of production Gillian Bohrer and creative executive Sophie Cassidy will oversee for the studio.

Lerman will next be seen in Summit’s The Three Musketeers and most recently starred in Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief. His other credits include 3:10 To Yuma and My One And Only.
