EXCLUSIVE: Yellow Veil Pictures will commence sales at EFM on the filmography of Australian transgender filmmaker Alice Maio Mackay after striking a deal with Dark Star Pictures.

The agreement encompasses most of Mackay’s existing body of work including The Serpent’s Skin, Carnage For Christmas, Satranic Panic, and her upcoming feature Our Effed Up World, which is in post and executive-produced by I Saw the TV Glow director Jane Schoenbrun.

“Alice has developed a distinctive cinematic voice that infuses genre cinema with deeply personal storytelling that isn’t afraid to be a bit messy, certainly gooey, but most importantly fun and heartwarming,” Joe Yanick of Yellow Veil Pictures said. “She makes hopeful films in a time of despair.”

“Alice is one of those rare filmmakers whose work feels completely alive – inventive, emotional, and unapologetically her own,” Dark Star Pictures president Michael Repsch added. “Teaming up with Yellow Veil gives these films the global platform they deserve.”

“So excited to have my films joining Yellow Veil Pictures’ amazing catalogue and to hopefully reach more audiences across the world,” Macakay said. The slate includes T Blockers and Bad Girl Boogey.
