Exclusive Film Distribution will begin pre-sales in Cannes on the thriller Invasion Of Privacy aka The Resident starring Hilary Swank, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Christopher Lee.
Principal photography is scheduled to begin on May 22 in New Mexico on the film, which is being fully financed by Exclusive Media Group and will be released through the Hammer Films label.
Music video director Antti J Jokinen makes his feature directorial debut on the story, inspired by the statistic that each year several million single women in America move into an apartment for the first time without knowing who lived there before them and without changing the locks.
Simon Oakes, Nigel Sinclair and Guy East are producing for Hammer alongside Cary Brokaw. Hammer’s Tobin Armbrust and Alex Brunner will serve as executive producers along with Tom Lassally of 3 Arts Entertainment and Swank.
“It has been exciting to see this project evolve into such a high profile commercial thriller which is now ready to leap off the page,” Exclusive’s head of sales Peter Naish said.
“The new script is scary and smart, the cast is fantastic and Antti is assembling a great crew. I am looking forward to selling out in Cannes.”
